If you look around this blog, you will probably realize in little time that I am hooked on finding ideas to make things easy around my home and garden.

Today, here are a few tips for getting things done in the quickest and easiest ways in your kitchen.

Remove Leaves From Herbs With A Grater

I never really liked the task of removing leaves from a bundle of herbs to add to a meal, or for getting them ready for preservation. It is just too time-consuming.

A quick way I have found is to pull those herbs through the holes in your grater. The leaves will easily come off without you having to use your fingers to pull them off.

Melt Butter With A Warm Glass Cup Or Jar

There are many ways to melt butter. One of the most common ways is to simply melt it in a pan on the stove. That is another idea that I was never really fond of. I didn’t like getting a pot greasy just to melt some butter.

I find it to be a much better idea to use a warm glass cup or jar to melt the better. Just dip the cup in some hot water, and put it over the butter. The butter will melt after a few minutes, and you won’t have a lot of clean up to do.

Use A Regular Jar On Your Blender

Have you ever wanted to blend some juice or beverage without getting your entire blender messy? Well… I have an idea for you!

Just use a regular jar on your blender. When you are through blending, insert a straw and enjoy your drink. That is it, not much blender cleaning up required.

Bake Potatoes With Nail Inside

I am not so certain how you will take this tip. I understand if you are a skeptic with this one. To each his own. But did you know that you can get a potato to bake faster by inserting a nail in it?

It is said that the nail will send the heat inside of the potato faster, so both the outside and the inside of the potato will get to be processed at the same time.

For this tip… Take it or leave it! That is up to you 🙂

Dry Kitchen Towels Behind Fridge

If you have kitchen towels that are wet, and you would like to get them dried overnight, you can do that with the back of your fridge.

You would need to have the type of fridge that has the grill that holds a little heat. Properly squeeze the towels and hang them on the grill. The heat from the fridge will dry them overnight.
