Carrots can be used in so many different ways. And the good thing is that whatever you make with them usually taste good. Carrots have great flavor and add a pop of color to any dish.
Here is a recipe for some delicious roasted carrots. It is very quick, easy to make, and I am certain you will enjoy your roasted carrots.
Ingredients
3 Medium Carrots
1 Tsp Dried Oregano Leaves
1 Tsp Dried Basil Leaves
1 Tbsp Vegetable Butter
1/4 Tsp Crushed Peppers
Salt To Taste
Step 1
Wash and peel the carrots. Slice carrots vertically or in whatever shape you want them. The slices should not be thin though, as you do not want them getting dried out too easily while roasting.
Step 2
Prepare a baking sheet by coating it with some butter. The amount of butter you use can’t really be too much for this recipe. So use as much as you like. Also, preheat the oven to 400º F.
Step 3
On the baking sheet, toss the oregano leaves, basil leaves, crushed peppers, and carrot slices. To make your carrots overflow with buttery goodness, you can put some butter on top of the carrot slices. This is totally optional, but should not be skipped if you want to have butter all over your carrots.
Step 4
Roast your carrots in the oven for about thirty minutes. This is only an estimation of the time your carrots might take to roast, so keep an eye on them and remove from the oven when you are satisfied.
Oven VS Grill
There is a difference between roasting your carrots in the oven and roasting on the grill. I honestly prefer to roast on the grill, but the oven will still do a great job.
When you roast your vegetables or other foods on the grill, you get the taste of smoke in your food. It can taste so good, and add great flavor to food. The oven will not give that effect, but you will still get that nice oven-roasted/baked flavor.
If you have a grill and the weather is right, you can try out this recipe on it. It will be like an upgrade to the flavors you taste.
Whichever way you choose to do the roasting, I hope you enjoy your carrots!
